Modeling and acting agencies?

im going for a "audition" to barbizon, but i've been researching it and most people are saying its a scam. Lately i've been wanting been thinkin about getting serious with acting and modeling but i dont want to fall for a scam. Does anybody know any true model/acting agencies that is NOT a scam in New Jersey?
