Window files but moving to a mac laptop?

i have a dell laptop and i obviously use windows so i have a lot of window type files such as wmv wma etc but i just got a mac and i am wondering will i have to convert them to a different format when i use imovie? and if so does anyone know a good fast converter cause i have over 200 videos!
